Councillor Roy Pearson, Essex County Councillor and President of Rochford and Southend East Conservative Association, has past away, he will be much missed by his family and all of those who knew him.

Out and About with Nick and Vicky

James Duddridge, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, was joined by Vicky Ford MEP and Nick Alston, Conservative Police Crime Commissioner Candidate for an action packed day in the constituency recently. James invited Vicky and Nick to spend a day out and about in Rochford and Southend visiting various communities, organisations and community events.

Fresher's Fair

Nick Alston the Conservative Candidate for Essex Police and Crime Commissioner joined James Duddridge MP and Rochford and Southend East on their stall at the Southend Fresher's Fair last week where they took the opportunity to talk to students.

Campaign for Driving Test Centre

James Duddridge MP is hosting a meeting with Mike Penning MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department of Transport on Thursday 2nd February to see if Southend can trial a new driving test centre.

Southend Street Lights to Stay on

Southend will not be used as a 'guinea pig' for plans to switch off street lights, a council chief has vowed. Pictueed right, Tony Cox, the Tory councillor responsible for highways, declared the town would not be joining Essex County Council's scheme to turn off lamps in residential roads between midnight and 5am.
